This policy explains what personal information Liberty Gun Trader (“we”, “us”) collects when you use libertyguntrader.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information: name, email address, username, password (stored hashed), account type, city/state/ZIP, and phone number if you provide it.
- Verification information (FFL accounts): business name, FFL number and license documents you upload so we can verify dealer status.
- Listing and transaction information: listings you create, bids, offers, messages sent through the site, orders, shipping and receiving-FFL details, and order status.
- Payment information: card payments are entered into a secure form provided by Authorize.net (Accept.js) and sent directly to the payment processor; we do not store full card numbers. Escrow payments are handled by GunTab on its own website under its own privacy policy. We keep the order total, payment status and the processor’s transaction reference.
- Contact form submissions: the information you send us through our contact form.
- Technical information: IP address, browser type, pages viewed and similar data collected through cookies and analytics (Google Analytics via Site Kit, and Jetpack Stats).
How we use information
- To create and secure your account and verify FFL dealers.
- To publish your listings and storefront and run auctions, offers and checkout.
- To send transactional emails (order confirmations, outbid and winning-bid notices, payment and shipping updates, password resets).
- To share the information needed to complete a transaction with the other party, the receiving FFL dealer, and the payment processor you choose.
- To prevent fraud, enforce our marketplace rules and comply with law.
- To understand how the site is used and improve it.
What other users can see
Your public profile or storefront, listings, and general location (city/state) are visible to visitors. Auction bid histories show anonymized bidder codes, not names. When you buy or sell, the other party sees the details needed to complete the sale, such as your name, the receiving FFL and shipping information.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share it with service providers who help us run the site (web hosting, email delivery, analytics, payment processors such as Authorize.net and GunTab), with the other party and FFL dealer in a transaction, and when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep you signed in, remember preferences and measure site traffic. You can block cookies in your browser, but parts of the site (such as signing in and checkout) will not work without them.
Retention and security
We keep account and transaction records for as long as your account is active and as needed for legal, tax, dispute and fraud-prevention purposes. Sensitive settings such as payment credentials are encrypted at rest. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
Your choices
You can update your account information from your dashboard. To request a copy or deletion of your personal information, contact us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws; we will honor requests as required by applicable law. Some records may be retained where the law requires it.
Children
Liberty Gun Trader is intended for adults. You must be at least 18 years old (21 for handgun purchases from dealers under federal law) to use the marketplace. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
